We will keep on demonstrating until authorities give a listening ear – agitated residents of Anwiam

The community of Anwiam Dangombaline in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region has bemoaned of poor roads and poor sanitation drainage system.

The said residents is said to have suffered for years as far as the issue of bad road network and poor drainage system is concerned.   Anfrebeats news desk interacting with some road driver’s who are residents of the town asserted that, “We have to change our vehicles’ shock absorbers every two weeks. The road is really having a toll on us,” says driver Micheal Awuku.

A 40 year old woman who happens to be a food vendor in the community disclose to our team that, “For the issue as a food seller, I have to be cleaning and washing every minute,” says worried Tamiawu.

Interacting with the Assembly man of the community Hon John Nkatia, he iterated that, due to fear of damage of vehicle’s drivers resist in taking passengers who happens to be going to the community. He said, the only bridge connecting the community easily get flooded because unplanned gas station built in a water log area preventing the free flow of rain water.

He said Following last year’s deadly flood, authorities from the Regional Security council promised to halt the activities of the gas station but the gas station is still operating, an indication
that shows nothing was done to halt thier activities.

Meanwhile i am affirming that,
“We will soon block the Road to embark on a serious demonstration as a way of registering our displeasure over the poor nature of the road. Until the appropriate authorities give a listening ear to the residents living on the stretch of the Oforikrom newsite and Anwiam Dangombaline road, we will continue to demonstrate he bemoaned.”
