Opposition candidate Saleh Kebzabo exit from the presidential election not a good Call

BY: Justice K. Aniah Baba

A Renowned Ghanian Broadcaster and investigative Journalist, Justice K. Aniah Baba, has expressed disappointment in Chad’s main opposition candidate Saleh Kebzabo for redrawing from the presidential election set for 11 April.

According to him, his exit is not a good call for the republic of Chad’s politics, and should rescind his decision.

“A leader must be bold enough to stand challenges and difficulties irrespective of the obvious militarization of political climate following the recent deadly attempt by security forces to arrest another opposition candidate Mr. Yaya Dillo.

“Do not let the 28th February attacks that allegedly left five members of Mr. Yaya Dillo’s family scare you, that cannot be a justification for withdrawing from the presidential race he bemoaned”.

The Statement continued by saying;

I will only urge you to be brave like your contender his Excellence President Idris Deby who was a strong ally of the West in regional encounter terrorism operation at the time he came to power in a military coup in the 1990s and is serving his fifth term in office.  Be brave and stand for the good of Chad. Do not fear the declaration made from the Supreme Court of your main contender Mr. Idris Deby who has been In power for 30 years and seeking re-election.   Looking at the other nine candidates who were declared by the Court as being qualified has a small rib to face over three-decade, so team up with the other side of the political parties to kick him out that will be the best option to resigning. Chad needs development and progress in its people’s lives.

I shall write to you in the meantime until you rescind your decision.
