The 2018/19 Group of the National services personnel’s association of Ghana cocoa board
has launched the 2019 Cocoa Consumption campaign to boost and enhance the fortune
of Ghana’s cocoa sector. The cocoa sector has been the backbone of Ghana’s economy bringing
in billions of dollars in foreign exchange and providing jobs directly and indirectly to millions of families.
Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo at the launch of 2019 Cocoa Consumption campaign in his address urged
Ghanaians to be cocoa consumption ambassadors and promote it wherever they find themselves.
Hon. Boahen Aidoo indicated that, if we can consume and process our cocoa then it will boost our economy
as well as the exportation of cocoa in other countries will be least and urged Ghanaians to be in the forefront
of the cocoa consumption campaign. He called on Ghanaians to take advantage of the health and nutritional
benefits of consuming cocoa, adding that Ghana cannot lose out on the benefits of cocoa whiles it produces
premium quality cocoa to increase revenue and at the same time a good incentive to expand the industry.
It is against this background that we gladly accept and approve the request by the 2018 /19 year of the National
service personnel association of cocoboard and naspac to embark on a sensitization campaign to promote
consumption within some selected markets in Accra and Kumasi. The same campaign was undertaken
by colleagues who did their national service last year and they are very impressed with the outcome said” Hon.
Joseph Boahen Aidoo” The chief executive officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr Kwesi Agyemang also added
that this campaign organized by the national service personnel of the Ghana cocoa board is a good initiative
and consumption will boost the hotel and hospitality industry urged hotels in the country in
the to use cocoa as a major boost of the economy.
