The Concern traders and Residents of Abgogbloshie has given the government two weeks’
ultimatum for the construction of the deplorable state of the road stretching from the central
Mosque through to the matter main Agbogbloshie market, and the linking upwards to Galloway.
Addressing the media in a Press conference, Mr Fredrick Opoku the Spokesperson for the group
said that the nature of the bridge linking the road through to Agbogbloshie market, on which
100,000 people cross every single day is near collapse, and they’re very much disturbed about the
the dormant way the appropriate government agencies including the local authority, the Accra Metropolitan
Assembly and the Ministry of Roads and Highways are going about in finding a lasting solution to the
the impending danger the dilapidated bridge poses. He added that the authorities in charge roads see the need
to immediately come over to do something concerning the request of the Concern traders and Residents of
Agbogbloshie on the road maintenance as soon as possible.
Mr Fredrick Opoku again stated that the failure on the part of the government and for that matter, the roads
ministry and AMA to acceded to their plea to maintain the road within 2 week working days, that’s 11th July
2019, they’ll act accordingly by law to press on to demand to ensure their wish and the sovereign right
through a massive DEMONSTRATION and PETITION will set in to have their goals met.
