The Health Minister, Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu has indicated that his output
will put a strategic plan to eliminate malaria in the country by 2030.
According to him, it was essential to scaling up coverage of effective malaria interventions as well as develop
and maintain effective surveillance to improve malaria prevention and control in Ghana.
Speaking at the opening session of the end of malaria in Accra, Mr Agyemang Manu disclosed that the
Ministry is trying all their possible best to combat malaria and educating the public as well as creating awareness
on the benefits of sleeping in the mosquito net. He also stressed that the malaria vaccine will help us to be able to
eliminate malaria, so Ghana can be a malaria-free country. The Director General of the Ghana health service, Dr
Anthony Nsiah-Asare also added that, for the country to eliminate malaria in the country we must as a citizen
keep our environment clean especially our gutters and water bodies and the malaria vaccine is one of the
keys that can help us eliminate malaria in the country.
