Philip Kwame Sabah, a leading Presidential Candidate for the upcoming 2019 GIJ SRC elections,
has, at the end of the maiden edition of the OHENEYERE GIFTY ANTI WOMEN OF GIJ AWARDS
expressed his joy about the event through the media and duly congratulated the women’s Commission
for doing a yeoman’s job. He concurs to the fact that organizing executing to perfection such a great initiative
with limited funds is indeed an effort worth celebrating.
Philip Sabah further noted that his administration, when given the mandate to serve, will factor such an award into its itinerary for the administration.
|“I was very high in the spirit when I went forward there to pick a citation for Dr Agyapong. The love around the whole event was very wonderful; celebrating new beginnings and using it as a means to encourage others to do more is key to human development and for that matter though she started small as a Commission under the SRC, my administration will factor the awards into our plans when given the power and we will add more categories to recognize hard-working women on campus. The Women Commission has a bigger role to play in any SRC.”|
The awards which seek to reward outstanding students in various fields was initiated in the name
of the Screen Queen Oheneyere Gifty Anti, who is an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
The maiden edition was held at La Villa Boutique Hotel in Osu which saw many students trooping
in to celebrate the outstanding women identified by the Commission headed by Edna Agnes Boakye.
