The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) member of parliament for Odododiodio and

former Sports Minister Hon Edwin Nii Vanderpuye has said that, “NDC lost the 2016 general and

parliamentary elections due to some petty things the supporters  didn’t get.” According to him, he and Hon.

Sampson Arhin and other twelve members organized themselves to find out the reasons why the party lost the

elections before the setting up of Professor Kwasi Bortwey commitee and he was fortunate to be a member of  the

committee to investigate the party’s overwhelmingly defeat to NPP in 2016.

Hon. Edwin Nii Vanderpuye speaking to City TV “Face – to face”hosted by Mr. Godfred, monitored by

www.anfrebeats.com indicated that, the delegates of NDC says former President John Dramani Mahama

is the person they want him to contest for his second term despite some family members of the former

president came publicly to say that, he will not contest. “We made a consultation with ranks and file of the

party and even with the former president before

he considered to contest that is why i predicted 95 percent win for him and indeed it happens” he said.
